Snapshot to Heirloom is a workshop for all levels designed to teach the basics of encaustic mixed media collage. Armed with a healthy dose of imagination, a few art materials, and your own family snapshots, you will learn how to take those photos that no one wants and turn them into personal paintings that the whole family will beg to own. 

For those of you who have shied away from working with encaustic because of its need for heat, I will show you how to create a sense of luminosity and depth using what some called faux encaustic, a satisfying acrylic alternative. Using a side by side approach, you can choose to work in wax or acrylic or both without skimping on results.

With more than three hours of video instruction I will take you from inspiration to finished painting and everything in between. Downloadable handouts and lots of options makes this project easy for everyone, even a beginner, to create stunning family heirlooms.
